Something in the works.

So back to hair clip related stuff....

I am really excited because I have these 'things' coming from the US that have been designed by myself but a lady over there makes what I want...have I confused you yet? (haha) Ok so I have designed these bow centres and a lady overseas is making them for me. The only thing issssss they are something new that I haven't seen done over here in hair accessories and while I think they are pretty cool and peeps will like them I am scared about them being copied. But like most creative businesses there really is nothing I can do about it because the fuss over copyrighting it would be more hassel than it's worth I think.
Either way I am still excited about these things and I can't wait to get them and show everybody! If they come out as good as I expect then I think I'll be putting in another big order before chrissy with all these designs in my head!

In order news I finally got my shabby roses and I LOVE them! I think I am going to be making myself a couple of these clips just to wear around in spring and summer. (OMG can you believe it's almost Spring here in Aus!) I think I am going to need to send some more clippies up to Kylie so she can take some gorgeous piccies for me.

Oh I've also had time to get out my sewing machine and have a play! I love it so much. I already have a special birthday project planned which I need to work on this Tuesday. Hoping it all goes to plan! I'll take progress pics and post them up once I am done.

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Buzzzzy Bee!

It feels longer than 8 days since I last updated my blog! I have just been run off my feet lately...it's good but tiring.

BB's First birthday sale started tonight!! It's going really well, sold around half of the items that I have uploaded which is good. I still have till Tuesday until it closes so hopefully I will have a couple more sold by then!

But now that it is 'over' so to say, I have to start on all of my orders! I think I have around 6 or 7 orders to get through that were booked before the sale began. Should keep me busy for the next two weeks! You can see in my pic above a couple of the sale items. One is a OOAK headband piece that I made and think it looks quite good so I may make them in other colours/combos but keep each one OOAK so that they are unique and special. I have also found some cute flowers which look a lot nicer once I have waved my magic fingers over them.

I've also been lucky enough to have some of my items taken in professional piccies! In the top left corner is Lil Miss A and I absolutely ADORE this picture. It is so cute and so cheeky, very vintage looking. Then on the bottom right is a piccie taken by Kylie at Daylight Imagery at one of her shoots the other day. It is such a beautiful and bright shot! Plus the headband complimented the pettiskirt perfectly! Of course to fit the pic in I had to cut out the pettiskirt but if you wanna look at the whole picture then you can go here CLICK HERE.

So apart from BB news, I have started my placement for my course. I had an awesome first day and pretty much just went with the flow of things. This monday coming is a public holiday so I don't go back for another week and a bit. Ontop of that I have been going to the dentist the last 3 Fridays, plus today and next friday AND now I have to see the Physio on Fridays too. So it looks like Friday will be my medicals day for a while. JOY! As long as they both fix me up then thats all that matters.

Hope everyone has a great long weekend!

I'll grab a cup of 'time' thanks!

I would consider myself a reasonably busy person. I work part time, studying plus running BB as well as having a life and trying to find time just for myself. The last thing I have got NONE of lately...but thats ok!

I have been busy making some sale stock, so far I have 8 daisy bows with a special embellishment...can you guess?? And slowly I'm getting some yoyo clips made. I think I'll have about 8 of those once I am finished.

I've also been doing my orders. I got two finished this week and I have just finished another tonight. I have another two left, one which is easy...one not as easy. The little singed flowers in the top right corner are part of one of the orders and I think they look sooo cute together! I am tempted to make a trio headband.

I have also been slack with updating my stock. I have all new crochet headbands and beanies and haven't even listed them. I also have my lovely new peonies (pictured bottom right) and haven't listed those either!!

This weekend I have two special events on. Saturday I have one of my school girlfriends wedding, which should be a GREAT day. I love getting together with my girls. I did want to make something special to wear in my hair but I am struggling to get creative.

I also have my Nans 89th birthday on Sunday! We're going out with some friends for lunch, one of them shares the same birthday so we thoughts why not kill two birds with one stone.

Please someone send me some more time!! Oh with a shot of energy....actually make that a double!

TTFN. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

YO making me crazy.

Finally...Blogger is back!! Yippee.

Over the last couple of days I have been yoyo-ing my little heart out. I know my picture looks a little different today than usual but that is because I have added in majority of the yoyos which I have made over the last 3 nights. Some of them are for an order but the rest are for my First Birthday Sale which is on the 10th June at 7:30pm...for those who don't know.

This morning I got down to the post office to send off my parcel of goodies to Kylie at Daylight Imagery. I am really excited to be getting these photos done and Kylies niece is just so adorable too. You can see in the top right corner a little box with some clippies in it for Kylies niece as a little thank you from me for being a model. I also put in another pic of my Maxi flower with feathers...again...I just love it so much! I even had to try it on before wrapping it up and sending it off hehe

Apart from that not much else has been happening in my bow world. I am just working on orders and on sale items. i did get my second lots of beanies in which is exciting! I love them so much, just wish I had a little head of my own to be wearing them. But there is pleeeeenty of time for that to happen...I won't be wishing too hard lol

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

When it rains, it pours!

I have been a busy little bee the last week! Everyone seems to put their orders in at the same time but I can't complain! First of all I hope that everyone had a great Easter! I know that I did but didn't eat as much chocolate as I should of, so I have heaps left over! I was sick over the Easter long weekend though which kinda sucked! I ended up having to go on antibiotics for sinusitis. Almost 2 weeks afterwards and I think it has left me for some other poor unsuspecting human being. *Fingers crossed*

I have actually been playing with a lot of new ideas over the last 2 weeks which has been refreshing and exciting. I have been playing with my bling buttons on my rannies and on my petunias. I have a pic of the purple petunia on the bottom left. This one will be off to Kylie at Daylight Imagery for her photoshoot. Hoping to have all of her items ready by the end of this week so I can post them off next week! Although I'm not expecting my shoot to be done anytime soon as Kylie has now gone fulltime with her business and is pretty packed out!

One of my customers, Tara liked the look of one of my headbands and asked if I could make it in a clip for her to put on her DDs beanie. So with a few tweaks here and there I was able to replicate it and it looks simply devine on the hot pink beanie...pictured above on the top right.

I have also been playing around with my photography 'skills' lately. I use the term skills loosely. I have seen some of the ladies on an american forum take some lovely pics of their products with funky background and though I would have a go at it. So I made myself some backgrounds and printed them off on the computer. You can see one of my pics on the bottom right. The red rannie looks pretty awesome against the black and white damask print and I have to admit that it would probably be one of the better photos I have taken LOL I have another one on my camera which I'll have to load and see if it's any good. I am thinking that before printing off the background maybe I should 'blur' it abit in photoshop first and then I'll get the required look regardless if my camera wants to focus or not. heh...Ok thats cheating.

Last but not least I hope everyone has a great Mothers Day. I am not 100% sure what is going on this year with my MD as my plans and my boyfriends mothers plans seem to have clashed a little bit. This brings me to my pic in the top left corner....those are my cool new funky kitty slipper sock/shoe type things! They were out for mothers days gifts but I couldn't pass them up and I'm glad I didn't. They are super comfy and keep my little tooties from getting cold which is a massive thing considering my feet are ALWAYS cold.

Oh also I have created an 'event' on Facebook for my big first birthday party sale! Try saying that three times quick. For anyone who wants to join in on the festivities here is the link... http://www.facebook.com/breesbowtique#!/event.php?eid=128727477203046

Princesses, Flowers and Chocolate..oh my!

Where does the time go? The weeks are going by so fast I can't seem to keep up sometimes! This week has been rather quiet at work but I have been coming home more tired than usual. Then on Friday (first day of our 5 day long weekend) I woke up with a sore throat and start of stuffy sinuses so I am putting down my tiredness to the beginning of a cold.

Anyway for some Brees Bowtique updates! I got my delivery of Rannies...finally!! They are actually a lot nicer in real life then what I was expecting so I am more then happy! I also got some rhinestone flowers in my order and they are so pretty and sparkly that I will be keeping my eye out for a group buy on these to get some more.

I have also gone a little princess mad this week! I finally got to finish off my princess clippy bows that have been sitting on my desk for a couple of weeks now. I've also put to use some of my little sequined crowns on my elastic headbands.

Not sure if I have mentioned it yet...(I probably have) but I am getting Kylie from Daylight Imagery to do some pro photos for me of my products! I was hoping to get everything together by this weekend but I do really want to send her a crochet beanie however my supplier STILL hasn't got back to me yet. While she is a good supplier and decent pricing I am going to have to take my business elsewhere if she doesn't pick up her game.

So anyhow if you want to check out some of Kylies pics then head on over to her website or you can 'like' her page on Facebook.

Then I have a lil bunny in the bottom corner...why? Because of Easter! Hope everyone had a great weekend and didn't overdose on chocolate...too much.

Fab Flowers complete!

Just a quick one from me today.

I haven't had a whole lot of time recently to create which absolutely sucks. I want to know where the time goes!

Anyway my pic today includes two of my new Fab Flowers! Like my Fab Bows these are made of fabric (hence the 'fab') and I just fiddle and fart around until I have a pretty flower! I think I still need to work on creating the petals and having them sit properly. The pink one was my second attempt where I paid more attention to the petals but some still came out a tad wonky. Don't you love the little centre "button" look. I was looking at some flower brooch tutorial the other day and they made centres out of material and stuffing and they look almost identical to a fabric covered button. I think it's fantastic! I can't wait to get this going on some of my YoYos. Going to save me a heap considering I was going to buy a fabric button maker thingo (look at my perfect technical explaination).

The other flower was my first attempt at making a fabric flower with some of the AWESOME fabric I found at the Op shop. It's not perfect but I love the little pearl detail, makes it so pretty and vintage looking. Think I need to find out what the material is next time I am in Cabramatta and get it in different colours.

Another busy week!

So I've had a busy day this week completeing and sending orders. Still waiting on a couple of payments from customers so I can get the rest of these outta here! In the pic on the bottom left corner you'll see some of the singed flowers which I have been making for orders. They are so pretty and will look great on the beanies and headbands! Can't wait to get some piccies from my customers *big smile*

Not only have I been busy making stuff but I've also got a couple of deliveries this week! *squeal* I got my elastic and ribbon which I have been waiting for for agggess! Now I just have to pull my finger out and start making my paci clips! I think that will be my next project and will give me something different to focus on. My new elastic colours are above in the top left pic. I am loving the hot pink colour, it is so so yummy! I'm not a big green or yellow fan but I do really like these ones that I got.

My other delivery was my gerbera daisies! So many hair accessory places sell these and I felt like I was missing out on something so I only got 8 just to test them out and see how they went. Well I got my parcel...got excited...open my parcel...so far so good....looked closer....hmm afew bent petals....hmm that rhinestone isn't any good....hmm there is a petal missing on that one. I suppose you live and learn! I haven't been turned off the daisies but I know I will have to be more picky about where I get them from. So now I have some daisies without rhinestones because they are yukky or scratched and I won't use them. I can put my little pearl centres on them which do look nice but I should have my rhinestone buttons in about a months time so I think I will wait for them *big smile*

So I have had some ups and some downs this week. Work has been rather busy but I have a late start tomorrow which is nice although I am fully booked from 1pm to 6pm which means I won't finish work until around 6:30-7pm. Think I may go get my hair cut on Friday as a little pick me up before heading off to the footy.

Oh before I leave I better explain the last picture in the bottom right corner. This is a very nice brooch that I got from Pitt Trading @ the Craft Expo a couple of weeks ago and completely forgot about uploading it. I am going to use it on my jackets or to dress up my scarves during the colder months coming up. Best of all it was only $6 and is so soft and delicious! Well I haven't really tasted it but I bet it would be if it were food!

TTFN my little bowtiquians!
